TO MY MOM & DAD

I was but a wee little pup, when I came to be your own,
A very lucky little girl, who would never be alone....
I was your beautiful, little girl, and I loved you very much,
I loved the way you talked to me, and your very gentle touch...

I guess I was a Daddy's girl, till I started feeling bad,
Then Mom I'd always come to you, the best nurse I could have had...
I would go hunting, with you Dad, I loved to "Get them birds",
And I also loved to hear them sing, The prettiest sounds I ever heard....

Remember Mom, the times we shared, just listening to them sing,
It was our very special time, and such happiness the sounds would bring...
I also loved to make you laugh, and playing ball was so much fun,

I was very smart and learned quite fast, and you were very proud of me,
You would call my name, say "Such a Good Girl", I know that you could see...
How much I loved you, Mom and Dad, and that love will always be there,

We did lots of things, that were so much fun, like the towel upon my head,
You would say you couldn't find me then, and such funny words you said...
I looked after you, and kept you safe, and I trained and tracked so well,

Just remember me, as your funny girl, don't be sad that we're apart,
I'm not there for you to hug me now, but I'll live forever in your heart...
When the time is right, a long time from now, I'll look up and there you'll be,
We will cross the Bridge, together again, forever through eternity......

I got to the gate of Heaven yesterday
after we said good-bye.
I began to miss you terribly,
because I heard you cry.
Suddenly there was an Angel and she asked me
to enter Heaven's gate.
I asked her if I could stay outside
for someone who'd be late.
I wouldn't make much noise you see,
I wouldn't bark or howl.
I'll only wait here patiently
and play with my tennis ball.
The Angel said I could stay right here
and wait for you to come
Because Heaven just wouldn't be Heaven
if I went in alone.
So I'll wait right here, you take your time,
but keep me in your heart.
Because Heaven just wouldn't be Heaven
without you to warm my heart.
